| Hi! My name is Ann Marie Given. I am an educational support Paraprofessional at Antrim Elementary School. That means that I work with students in and out of the classroom to help them become more successful.
I have been a para for 19 years, 8 of them at A.E.S. The work I do is extremely rewarding and the students I work with are incredible. Every day presents new and interesting challenges. Growing up I had hoped to become a fashion designer and earned a degree in apparel design. I worked briefly as an assistant children's wear buyer in New York City. When I turned 40, I returned to college and earned a degree in Educational Psychology. It took me 10 years to accomplish that feat, but I did it!!! That experience taught me that nothing is impossible if you just try your best. That is a message I hope to pass on to the students I support! Antrim Elementary School is truly a place where kindness, respect, honesty and cooperation prevail. |
