TES enjoyed having Marvin Burnette as our Artist In Residence. He is a from the Oglala Tribe of the Lakota Sioux Nation. A celebrated Native American dancer, Mr. Burnette brought traditional Native American dance to our students, as well as teaching Native American crafts, culture and tradition. 

Mr. Burnette exposed the entire school to traditional and social dances. Each grade learned dancing and heard stories and traditions of Native Americans, especially related to how Native Americans continue their traditions in today's world.
