First graders love watching the caterpillars they have found become butterfiles. Our monarch butterflies are tagged before being released so that migration routes can be tracked by the Monarch Watch Program .
Just before they graduating from kindergarten last year, the children planted a rainbow garden and painted rainbow stones to decorate it. When they came back to school as first graders this fall they were very happy to see just how beautiful their garden had become over the summer.
