James Grashow Exhibit at the Sharon Arts Center
Artist, James Grashow, in collaboration with the Sharon Arts Center, created an "Aquarium of the Imagination" with area school children made entirely of cardboard. The fourth grade class visited the "Aquarium," observed the art and then wrote a poem. Take a moment to read the poetry that was inspired by their "underwater" visit.
Imaginary Ocean

carboardarific, cardboardizy

creeping, flowing, splashing

fins, barnacles, tentacles, weeds

reaching, grabbing, eating

spiky, squirmy

Ocean

fishy, watery

boating, swimming, diving

cardboard fishes swimming in the ocean

bubbling, sinking, fishing

rippled, wavy

Underwater Life

cardboardlicious, carboardtastic

swimming, diving, water-moving

treasures, bubbles, creatures, pearls

feeding, sucking, breathing

Under the Ocean

scaly, colorful

scaring, bleeding, hiding

finding, imagining, believing

little, big
