This year the whole school will be studying Scotland. In addition to doing research in books, through videos and on the internet, throughout the year we will be visited by locals who will share their knowledge and talents.

Alec McGovern, a freshman at ConVal, showcased his talents as a bagpiper. Alex visited Scotland a few years ago and was inspired to learn this ancient instrument. The children were surprised at the complexity of playing the bagpipes and thoroughly enjoyed this performance by a young man not much older than themselves.

| Temple resident and former student, Kate Sartell, took time from her college break to host the entire school at her family farm. Besides learning all about raising sheep, she sheared them for our students so they could experience the process that wool goes through before it becomes sweaters. Beyond that, she came to the school a few days later to make a craft with the wool the children had watched her shear. Thank you Sartell family particularly Kate. | |||||||||
