Temple Historical Walk
On Monday, June 2nd, the fourth grade class was taken on an historical hike through Temple by some members of the Conservation Commission. Eric Foley, a former student who is graduating from high school this year comes to our school every year (and has been for about eight years now) to help the fourth graders plant Christmas trees. Eric has always loved nature and just naturally grew into a conservationist. He thought it would be fun to take the fourth grade on a hike (especially since Temple's 250th birthday is next year), so he spoke with his fellow Conservation Commission members and they came up with a special walk for them. The hike included the Glass Factory, the Old Maynard Inn foundation and old Temple roads no longer in use. The children enjoyed a picnic lunch and got to explore areas of Temple that were unfamiliar to them. Thank you Conservation Commision and Eric!
