CONTOOCOOK VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT
TITLE I
PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY

1. The Parent Involvement Policy shall be a working document, and may be rewritten yearly as parents review it and consult with Title I staff.

2. Said policy shall be sent home each fall to every participating parent with the parent permission forms and a description of the Title I program.

3. Title I teachers will be available to answer questions at each school's fall open house.

4. Title I teachers will explain the Title I program, review parent policy, and discuss ways parents can work together to provide a successful Title I program for each child at the first trimester conference.

5. Parents will receive written reports each trimester and will conference with classroom and Title I teachers at the end of the first trimester.

6. The Title I project manager and Title I teachers will be available by telephone on an as needed basis. Telephone conferences and additional parent/Title I conferences will be scheduled as needed.

7. Parents may observe their child during a Title I lesson.

8. Title I Planning Committees, including parents of participating students, will meet on a regular basis. Committees may be school-wide, or project schools wide. These committees, or any representative parents, will consult on the design and implementation of this project.

9. Parents will be given an opportunity to give input, evaluate the programs, and evaluate the level of parental involvement through a parent questionnaire sent out in May.

10. Parents will be provided information during the year about activities they can do with their children.

11. As a matter of public record, a description of the Title I project is available each March in the school district report.

12. Parents in each targeted school will be invited to a meeting to hear about Title I in their school, their right to be involved, and parents' role on their school's Title I planning committee.
